Lloyd Scott, probably the best known charity fundraiser in the UK is announcing his most ambitious charity project to date. He will walk from Land's End to John O'Groats accompanied by a life-size tyrannosaurus rex to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust!

The dinosaur has been specially made in the Philippines by Johnathan Mallinson of Asian Replicas and is currently en route to the UK in a container. He stands over 13 feet high at the hips, is nearly 30 feet long and took three months to build.

Lloyd says, “I wanted to do something big this year to celebrate my life saving transplant and you can't get much bigger than a life-size dinosaur! I very nearly died when I underwent my transplant, so I guess I have come a long way from that time.” Since then Lloyd has completed an incredible number of charity feats, most famously his deep-sea diving suit in the London marathon, the world's first underwater marathon in Loch Ness and even cycling a Penny Farthing across Australia. He was awarded the MBE in 2005 for his services to charities to which he commented stood for being, 'Mad, Bonkers and Eccentric!' (A full list of Lloyd's exploits can be found at the bottom of this release).

The walk will take 70 days to complete and will be starting on 19th July. Lloyd said 'We will be on the road for 70 days and plan to have 20 dedicated fund raising days in main towns and attractions. We will be visiting Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow to bring this amazing creature to as many people as possible and really maximise the fundraising potential of the event. TCT is a charity very close to my heart having survived leukaemia at a young age and I hope to raise half a million pounds for what is a fantastic charity.'
